Books are my drugs

Believe me when I say that being a bookworm is such an incurable disease because I’m currently and will forever be in that state. I wouldn’t call it an addict for books shopping though, because even if I can get a book in the form of a gift, or even in the form as a loan from someone else, I don’t mind at all; in fact, you can say how happy I am. Books are just my muse, they are so amazing that they’re the main reason why I will probably be broke when I grow up (despite having a job, duh). Some people cannot resist the temptation to buy new clothes, new shoes while I, on the other hand, is quite different? At least that’s what I – and my family – thinks.
Yesterday, dad was being so generous with my purchases and wants that he made me question myself over and over again - “who are you and what have you done to my father?” to which I end up laughing at my own foolishness. I guess there are certain times when adults have their “good mood” mode switched on? ..Just playing. Anyway, here are my yesterday’s purchases on books:
I have been searching for Jay Asher’s book for a long time now and I freaked out and jumped a little in the bookstore when I found it. Choosing two books (two because that’s my limit, or so dad says) can be an extremely tough job. Every time I’ve made up my mind and was about to head to the cashier, there will always be some books that make me halt and think all over again. Man, what is it with books and me? Really. It’s unbelievable. And guess what, these are the number of books that are on my waiting list:
I bought Clockwork Prince the week before yesterday but stopped reading it because I can’t stand the stupid heroine who can’t seem to make up her mind, just like a helpless princess waiting for her knight in shining armor. How repulsive that is, or maybe it’s just me hating Theresa Gray – the heroine. Moving on, I haven’t even touched Harper Lee’s and Rex Collings’ books! Blimey! I guess Melissa De La Cruz’s Lost In Time is just so irresistible and I’m dying to read the next installment of Blue Bloods series. As for Rex Collings’ and Harper Lee’s…. they can wait, lol.
yes, there’s Twilight and New Moon there; I read them and that’s how I find the series to be lame. Period.
Other than my extreme, unstoppable purchases on books, dad got me a perfume yesterday. A fucking branded perfume. I’m not a perfume-lover or anything but when dad bought me this one alongside his Calvin Klein perfume, I was grinning from ear to ear. Below is the Elie Saab (even the perfume’s brand name is like my real name, lol… only that my real name has no B alphabet in it); the second picture is my old and current perfume though.
this one smells like vanilla candy though 8D
Last but not least, to end this boring long post (with a lot of picture spamming), I present to you a kanimayo and salmon temaki! (It’s been months ever since I ate sushi.. /cries)
最高の食べ物です!
P.S: a movie review of HUGO has been added under the articles section.

Your dad is so sweet to let you buy books. When i was little my dad would literally glare and get into a pissy mood if I walked up to him with a book in my hand when we’re shopping. Luckily, there was this amazing thing call the library. lol
I have a lot of books as well. I had a room filled with books, but I donated a lot of it away. It’s horrible how other children are left without books!
I don’t own any expensive perfumes since it seems weird to spend so much to smell like something O_o But I wouldn’t mind if someone gave me expensive perfumes hehe
Hi Shiki. Hisashiburi~! (I don’t think that’s exactly the correct term but..you get my drift. Haven’t visited your blog in a while.) I love the new hot pink navis.~
Regarding on your last comment, actually I have a hard time on the positioning and panelling of the ‘boxes’ in the manga too. I guess I didn’t think that much into it. =n= Anyway, wow, you’re writing an original story, that’s cool! So is it something like.. a light novel?:3
Anyway… I can relate on the geekiness(lol). Everytime I walked in on a bookstore, I always end up buying something and I always leave with a dejected feeling because I wanted to haul the entire bookstore home. Sometimes I spent hours deciding on what books to buy because it seems my money was never enough. Lol. Once I even haven’t eaten for three days because I overspent my allowance on books. haha. I love books that much. (and I like smelling them.lol. Weird me.haha).
Hmm Vanilla candy as perfume sounds nice. Lol. I like sweet food-smelling perfumes. My current one smells like watermelon. :3
I don’t really know why, but I suddenly love people who are a book lover. Maybe because it’s really seldom nowadays to see one. (in a ration of 4:10 maybe). I personally love books, and I love it more than movies.
I remembered when my bestfriend gave me a branded perfume as well, I never used it. It’s just for display bec it’s too expensive I don’t wanna waste it. Lol
Yay for books, hehehoho. Books are great, they really are. I try to read one book at a time though because if I have more than one book on my waiting list, often times I don’t end up reading the books. I know. I’m weird ^_<
And it really was sweet of your dad to buy you perfume & books! (Sushi ftw)
Aaaah, I love books. It’s sad that I do not read as much as I used to when I was longer, but I always find time for a good book. There’s something about reading that will always be better than watching a movie or even listening to the audio version of a book.
Actually, this weekend I plan to go and buy a book or two for myself
I had started “Thirteen Reasons Why” as a pdf but lost interest because the one I downloaded was quite crappy XD Lol, I breezed through “Lost in Time” too. It’s just that good of a book
Dude, I read all four books of the Twilight Saga :/ It’s a good thing I read the HP series right afterwards or I wouldn’t have recovered XD
I’ve never been a fan of perfume although I always wear cologne XD It’s nice when parents buy you stuff, it’s like Christmas when you were a kid.
Oh man, now you just got me hungry. I haven’t watched Hugo yet, although my family has seen it already. I was way too busy reblogging on Tumblr than actually watch the TV beside the computer XD
Aww, thank you twin

)
Yeah it is. Also, I can’t find any ebook readers
Haha, true. That was the first song my guy friend and I sang in class and the rest followed
Well, I hope it wouldn’t be that boring. I’m sure all we’ll do is write and read all the time, tho. It seems crazy that I don’t find that boring. /bookworm
Funnily enough, the 50th anniversary of the “To Kill A Mockingbird” film was celebrated yesterday on TV. I don’t remember all the details of the book, but that book was one of my favorite school reading book. That and “Lord of the Flies.”
I spy Harry Potter amongst those books on your shelf. What did you think of the series? It’s my favorite of all-time. I don’t think any series has hooked me from start to finish like it did.
Oooh, is that Tidus in the corner? Are those FFX books? I didn’t know they had books!
BEING A BOOKWORM IS GOOD!!! books = knowledge
!! i wish i can spend more time reading novels…but all i have time lately for is reading textbooks and research papers and just…yeah. *gorges eyeballs out* i have never heard of any of the books you mentione T_T *feels horrible*
btw do you read Haruki Murakami’s works? i wanna read some of his books and I only read 1Q84 and would love to start a new one by him! (hopefully when the semester ends!)
and yay perfume!! pretty! the scent sounds nice too!
I used to be an avid reader…I don’t know what happened to me. I would read books every night and go to the local library or bookstore almost every week…Ever I started high school, reading’s been more like a chore than a hobby for me. Maybe it’s because of the lack of sleep I get. You’d think that after three years of getting 5 hours of sleep every weeknight, I’d already be used to it… Nope.
Ah omg, I’ve been gone from my blog so long and I noticed you left a comment. I miss reading your blogs!
Sometimes I wish I have the patients to sit and read a book. I really like that feeling of entering the book world.. if you know what I mean >__<
What is your username on Last.fm and Twitter.. lemme find you on Twitter! xD
You’re an avid reader too! *high five*
I’m planning to read To Kill a Mockingjay too. I just can’t find a copy of it!
and I believe you that “being a bookworm is such an incurable disease” Haha!
I used to read A LOT. I mean like 1 book in 1-2 days. Especially during the summer vacation months, I’d always be at the book store or library checking out new & old books to read.
Lately I haven’t “had the time” >-< I really want to get into reading again.
Shikiiii~ You have such a collection of books, it’s amazing 8D I wish I could be more interested to read other books than manga sometimes :’D congrats on your new acquisitions ♥
Are you spraying perfume on yourself when you go out? No offence of course, but I never thought you were interested in things such as perfume
(lol-ing at the french on the packages btw)
Temaki are so big asdljfdsf \;u;/ is your stomach full by eating those? o:
Sometimes I regret not buying more books instead of ebooks. Ebooks are easy to obtain & you don’t have to go into a physical store… but you also never get to hold an actual book in your hand.
Your pictures of your book collection make me want to go out and buy at least ten books! I guess I’ll have to settle for the library and my kindle, though I guess.
I’m a total bookworm, myself. I’ll never stop. Well, if I’m blind & deaf, maybe. I kind of like audiobooks, though. I like to listen to scary ones, though. Like Stephen King. I think I need something exciting if I’m to listen to an entire book & not let my mind wander. I’m one of those people that have to see it to retain the info.
