I hate adobe flash image It’s one main reason why I’ve decided to blog for a new entry (aka ditch the college work and blog instead). I know that it’s essential to learn the software since Flash is sort of like the primary core for inspiring animator, however, it’s driving me mad. On Monday, I spent all day long dealing with the shit  flea because I haven’t had the urge to actually work on my final project for Interactive Media class. It’s not going to kill all my system and energy though because it’s only halfway done image Deadline is on June 19 so yeah, I’m sort of panicking here.

Anyway, screw the college crap. I’ve had enough thinking about it. So let’s get to the fun part; birthday celebration. Uh-huh, celebration. Not a huge, grand one with bombarding music and hundreds of guests however, you don’t really need those when you can dine in a very sophisticated restaurant. Obviously, awesome food is a lot more important than having crazy gathering or birthday bash party, at least in my opinion. Then again, it’s not my birthday to begin with, hah. It’s my mother’s 49th birthday image If you follow me on instagram, you’ve probably witnessed my food picture spamming last week. Her birthday was actually on Sunday, June 2 but we kind of celebrated it twice in a row – Saturday evening and Sunday itself. At first, she was complaining with “my birthday’s not on Saturday! Why are you making plans blablabla-” while I was all excited about which fine dining restaurant I want her to enjoy image I got pissed though since it felt like she didn’t appreciate my effort at all, sigh. She even raised her voice on me and I hate it when people do that, especially when I wasn’t the one at fault! It’s ridiculous, alright. I’m not the kind of person who’s really big about birthdays but I know that she is, so I decided to recommend her a good place to have dinner in and yet… image Nerve-wrecking so I sulked for half a day.

Nonetheless, we did go to a fine dining restaurant for French, Spanish and Italian cuisine. The place is called NEGEV and I certainly have no idea why they named it based on a desert found in Israel. I didn’t take snapshots of the interior design, however, you can probably google NEGEV restaurant in Indonesia so yeah. Also, it’s called “art gallery bar” for a reason and I can see why image So here goes the porn mini spam:

Virgin pina colada mocktail image I’m currently addicted to this!

honestly, I’ve never tried mojito. The first and last alcoholic drink I had was cocktail. Their mojito is one of the best! imageoh and this is lychee mojito~

Tapas are darlings imageI love spanish cuisine!

For main course, the three of us (being only parents and I) had Tropical Tuna pizza and linguini gamberi for pasta. And of course, since it’s French cuisine we’re talking about, there has got to be desserts! French cuisine is really a danger zone when it comes to desserts, especially pastries image They’re definitely my weakness! We had molten melted chocolate cake and vanilla souffle though - very, very, very mouth watering indeed.

beautiful creatures, aren’t they image

The spam, though, won’t end there. Nope. We went out for another French the next day. This time, it’s only a French-Italian dining, nothing Spanish. The second restaurant I’m going to spam about is called UNION, a well-known French dining location in here. It’s one of my favorite places to have a sophisticated, elite date with my empty stomach, be it for cakes or heavy meal. I personally think this is where the best red velvet cake is located. Red velvet cake, as you know, is becoming such a trend – oh and of course, macarons too but I don’t fancy macarons as much. I have yet to find another place which serves a good red velvet that can beat from this restaurant.

Boston clam chowder for entree image I lovw chowders! Cream soup is really bad for weight loss but on that day, screw that. Chowders make good addition for plain baguette/bread. Instead of using butter on the complimentary bread, I dipped it into the clam chowder and man, it’s one addictive indulgence. The second and third food that came were escargot and pan seared foie gras with caramel brioche image I didn’t plan an order on escargot though because the thought of eating exotic food (you know how some people eat, like, ANY animals’ meat and stuff? Uh, no, thank you) is just a rejection for my animal-lover self, however, it was dad who ordered this. image I’m surrounded with true Chinese who eat almost anything and everything (good thing my parents don’t eat rabbit or dogs or I’ll probably throw a tantrum on them and cringe big time) – no offense there, pardon me. The foie gras though (goose’s liver) was good. I’m not much of a fan for eating livers and such, to be honest image I only ordered foie gras for my parents because French cuisine seems to address both escargot and foie gras as their main attraction. The brioche’s very satisfying, by the way.

here comes the best red velvet in town! image

The fact that this red velvet cake isn’t as cheesy and creamy as other red velvet cakes I’ve tried, it really provides great satisfaction for my sweet tooth. Since it’s quite a big piece, we shared the cake for $5.61 which I personally think is a decent and worth price. Those two days were pretty much a sinful indulgence of escape. I weighed myself in paranoia the moment I reached home and the number went from 44kg to 46kg! image Obviously, I freaked out, haha. Then I decided to tone it down again as soon as Monday starts. Diet here we go! image

Meanwhile, on the contrary, I’ve bought another circle lens that is from GEO medical’s Mimi series. If you follow my instagram, this is probably just another revision but whatever image

dollywink

In room/normal lightning, the color isn’t as striking though..

As if it’s not obvious, I’m a huge fan of Tsubasa Masuwaka, a former model of Popteen magazine now the owner and creator of Dollywink cosmetics famous for dolly-like false lashes (psst, Dollywink’s liquid eyeliner is really nice and smooth image try it, try it). She always, always used that circle lens in every Dollywink catalog merely because she collaborated with GEO to create the infamous Bambi Princess Mimi lens imageIt’s also available in grey, green and recently, almond brown. I think I’ll try the green apple one next time it’s in stock here. Originally, I wanted the green apple version but I gotta ordered it and wait for three….days (or was it weeks?) so I declined the offer and tried the chocolate brown firsthand.

With 15mm as its diameter, the Geo Mimi has a base curve of 8.7mm and water content at 38%. Color-wise, I quite like it since it makes my eyes look natural while, at the same time, giving them a clear view of the actual brown color. Compared to my first lens (the right image, that is), I prefer the GEO Mimi a lot more thanks to its vibrant shade. I’ll re-purchase the GEO mimi but not the other. Comfort-wise, it’s alright – I’ll probably rate it 3-4/5. Then again, with 38% water content level, it’s obvious it would feel different compared to my other contacts which carries water level of 50% and above. Speaking of, I have no idea why my eyes still look kind of the same…Okay, maybe a little bit bigger (enlargement effect, duh?) but it’s still pretty much the same, probably because originally, I do already have big eyes. image

I still have to learn how to use false lashes though image I have to or else I won’t be able to try out the Dollywink series haha they’re really expensive so I’ll try using a cheaper one for trial.

Putting aside the Tsubasa-crazed talk, I watched EPIC in 3D with my friend last Saturday image Was it good? Yes, it was; it was entertaining, enjoyable. The story was alright, nothing extremely bizarre and mind-blowing. Directing and animation-wise, it’s not a surprise to see something like this from Blue Sky. I’d probably tell you that this is something you’ve expected from the studio and Chris Wedge himself, being the director of Ice Age and all. Frankly, I’m wondering how it’d be like to watch it in IMAX 3D since IMAX 3D has been said to deliver more “popping out of the screen” effect compared to Dolby or RealD whose 3D are a lot more focused towards the depth of the movie. Speaking of IMAX 3D, Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park is now airing in IMAX 3D, obviously a re-release. I wanted to watch it but end up ditching the thought because my father have watched it so …image

Also, I’m happy to announce (lol, “announce”) that I’ve watched Star Trek Into the Darkness twice image See how much I love the captain and his partner everyone on board? Hah, yeah, I love Scotty and his amazing humor. Simon Pegg is amazing, ’nuff said. Star Trek made me marathon HEROES series for weeks too, by the way. Uh, blame everything on Zach “Mister Spock” Quinto, thank you very much. I finished all four seasons in, what, three weeks? I’m goood~ image Next is to watch ELEMENTARY’s episode 23-24 and then continue Hannibal… I’m sorry, Supernatural, for stopping at season 2. I promise I’ll get back to you…someday.

P.S: Changed my comment system to Disqus just because I’m tired of customizing WP’s comment box. There’s always something that goes wrong whenever I move my code to wordpress. It’s probably my fault that I’m not good enough but ha, whatever. So remember to leave your URL when you leave a comment so I can visit your blog back~ I like commenting on entries too, just so you know hehe image
